4 Steps to Promote Your Dealership Event via Facebook

DATE PUBLISHED: February 10, 2014

As most car dealership owners know, events are a balancing act. On one hand, they can help increase your sales and expand your customer base with ease. On the other hand, they can be quite expensive and don’t necessarily guarantee a good turn out. Fortunately, there’s a way to really combat that low turn out aspect; and that’s through Facebook.

But how exactly do you go about advertising your dealership event so that it buildsgreat anticipation and ensure your success? Here are the steps:

Step 1: Create an Event Page

Social networks like Facebook, Google+ and Foursquare allow businesses to create event pages. On Facebook it’s quite simple. You can add details about your dealership event such as the date, time, highlights and guests.

Step 2: Invite Friends and Fans

After creating event pages for your auto business, you can then start telling people about it. You can begin with inviting employees and business partners and encouraging them to invite people who they believe will be interested in your event. You can also post an announcement on your website.

Step 3: Post Daily Updates

“Out of sight, out of mind.” To build anticipation for your event, posting frequent updates is a must. When advertising you dealership through status updates, however, you must refrain from just posting the same message over and over again (e.g., “We have an auto event on February 20. Come and join us.”). Rather, you should be creative and give new information every day. You can mention the new car models that will be put on display, important guests who will drop by and activities that people can participate in. Don’t forget to add relevant hashtags to make your posts easy to find both inside and outside of Facebook.

Step 4: Start Promos or Offer Incentives

To up the ante and make your target audience more excited for your auto event, you should also consider starting promos (e.g., sale and discounts for selected car makes and models) and offering incentives (e.g., free service such as a checkup and consultation, rebates, or a simple car accessory). Of course, you have to make it clear that the offers can only be redeemed at the event.

Advertising your dealership event should never be done using traditional methods alone. Taking advantage of Facebook to reach as many prospective customers as you can is vital to ensure the success of your auto event.
