5 Facebook Posts for Automotive Dealers

DATE PUBLISHED: January 10, 2014

Facebook is a great way for auto dealerships to expand their clientele with a minimal spend. However, you have to remember that you have thousands of rivals eyeing the same customers you want to connect with. facebook for your automotive dealer

That’s why you need to step up your game and make your social media page as lively as possible with the following types of Facebook posts:

Photos and Videos

Cars are the highlight of your business, right? So they should be the highlight of your Facebook page as well. However, to really attract attention, don’t just take a picture of them haphazardly. Weave a story through careful selection of brands, models, props and background and polish the photos and/or videos before posting them. Visit the pages of the car makers themselves (e.g., Ford, Porsche, BMW, etc.), and get the inspiration you need to craft curiosity-piquing car images and content. TIP: Don’t want to bother perfecting an image? Try sharing a big car brands’ post that most likely already uses a nice image.

Trendy Throwbacks and Memes

People love to follow trends, and that’s the reason behind the #ThrowbackThursday photos, memes and the viral videos you see on your timeline every day. Keeping up with these trends while adding a personal touch (e.g., trivia about car brands and your auto dealership) will make your brand relevant and up-to-date.

Touching Stories

Studies have proven that strong emotions, specifically positive ones like happiness and confidence, greatly influence a customer’s buying decision.   You should use Facebook for your dealership in such a way that it uplifts your customers’ spirits and makes your brand more relatable. One way to do that is to share stories about your dealership (e.g., how it came about, what your motivations and visions are, etc.) and stories your customers might have had and want to share.

Awesome Ads and Events

Do you have an upcoming event, a discount for a special occasion or a weekend-long promotion? Using Facebook for your dealership advertising will help you connect with more of your local customers. This in turn will help you improve brand awareness, grow your follower base and improve sales’ growth and develop customer loyalty.

Q and A

No matter how awesome the cars you sell are or how stellar your customer service is, your clients will always have questions. It may be about financing options, the best model for a specific budget, the right cleaning materials to use for their cars or how the car will be delivered. Answering such questions that have been sent via email, private messages, or during personal visits publicly on your Facebook page will make your auto dealership more unique and desirable in your prospective customers’ eyes.  If one customer has this question, chances are others will to.

Using Facebook for your dealership can be tricky since you have plenty of competition and are dealing with diverse customer personalities. That’s why staying up on trends in your industry, constantly monitoring customer buying behaviors and promptly responding to queries and feedbacks are a must.
